The difference between "horizontal" and "vertical" grid couplings is only in the two types of split cover designs (and their corresponding cover kits).The grid spring element and the coupling hub technology are the same.
The design of the horizontal cover is easy to assemble and disassemble, especially in a small space, because they can be assembled on the cover after the hub and the grid spring element are assembled.
The vertical split cover design requires the split cover to be placed on the shaft before the hub and grid spring elements are installed.Once the hub and grid spring element are connected, the vertically split cover can slide on the hub and grid spring element and fasten together. (This also means that to completely remove the vertical split cover from the shaft, you must first remove the grid spring element and coupling hub.)
